Job Summary:  This is an excellent spot for someone new to working in a commercial kitchen on a busy production line. Start as a pizza topper and get a feel for our pace, expectations, and products before moving into a Line Cook, Prep Cook, or Grill Cook position at Red Lodge Pizza Co.


Essential Job Duties: include the following; other duties may be assigned:

Production & Quality Control

  • Station Management: Set up and maintain stocking stations with all necessary fresh ingredients and supplies for peak service hours.
  • Recipe Adherence: Master the art of topping high-quality pizzas, calzones, and rolls according to our proven, time-tested recipes.
  • Consistency: Memorize and strictly apply our serving portion sizes to ensure every guest receives a perfect pizza and more every time.
  • Food Prep: While heavy food prep is handled by our Prep Cooks, you are responsible for verifying that all prepped ingredients at your station are fresh, correctly stocked, and adequate for the shift's anticipated volume.

Kitchen Operations & Safety

  • Sanitation Standards: Ensure all food preparation and storage areas meet or exceed restaurant cleanliness and safety regulations. Operate the industrial dishwasher safely.
  • Inventory Rotation: Monitor product freshness and implement "First In, First Out" (FIFO) rotation in line with our production schedule.
  • Workflow Efficiency: Manage basic janitorial tasks to keep the line clean and organized at all times and perform daily duties such as opening, closing, and side work
  • Collaborative Communication: Work closely with the culinary team to communicate menu items and ensure smooth transitions between baking and presentation.

Operational Readiness:

  • Communication: Employees must be accessible via cell phone and/or email for scheduling and human resources applications.

Experience/Education

  • High School Diploma or GED (or actively in school)
  • Experience preferred but not necessary (We will train you!

  • Work Environment: This job operates in a kitchen. This role uses ovens, grills, knives, and mixers, among other restaurant equipment.  This role routinely uses sinks, dishwashers, and tools to clean kitchen appliances. Employees in this role are frequently exposed to hot water, potentially slippery floors, garbage disposals, and cleaning chemicals.  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to prolonged standing.  
  • The nature of the hospitality business requires employees to work weekends, holidays, and late hours.
