Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable, hardworking Dishwasher to join our kitchen team during the busy summer season. This role is a vital part of our back-of-house operations, ensuring all culinary tools and service items are clean and available for peak hours. As our business grows, this position serves as an excellent entry point for those interested in advancing into Pizza Topper, Prep Cook, or Kitchen Management roles.
Essential Job Duties: include the following; other duties may be assigned:
Operations & Sanitation
- Industrial Dishwashing: Operate industrial dishwashers safely and rapidly to maintain a constant supply of clean dishes.
- Manual Cleaning: Wash specific kitchen items by hand when required.
- Station Management: Maintain the organization of plates, silverware, and all kitchen items in their designated storage areas.
- Safety Standards: Follow all sanitation and health-related protocols to ensure a safe workspace for the entire team.
Kitchen Support & Maintenance
- Janitorial Tasks: Empty all trash receptacles and immediately clean up spills or broken glassware to prevent hazards.
- Team Collaboration: Assist prep cooks and other kitchen staff as needed to ensure smooth transitions during busy service.
- Shift Readiness: Complete all required daily duties, including opening, closing, and side work.
Skills and Qualifications
- Hospitality Mindset: Honest, dependable, and a team player with a positive attitude.
- Stamina: Physical ability to work in a hot, humid kitchen environment and remain on your feet for 8-hour shifts.
- Strength: Ability to safely lift and move loads up to 50 lbs.
- Efficiency: Strong time management skills and the ability to work quickly during high-volume periods.
Operational Readiness
- Communication: Employees must be accessible via cell phone and/or email for scheduling and human resources applications.
- Flexibility: The nature of hospitality requires the ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and late hours.
Experience/Education
- High School Diploma or GED (or actively in school)
- Experience preferred but not necessary (We will train you!)
Physical Demands
- Regularly required to walk, reach, balance, stoop, and use hands for fine motor tasks (fingering, handling tools).
- Must be able to lift and move up to 35 pounds (kegs/cases/dough) and frequently use stairs.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
- This role involves working in a busy kitchen, using ovens, mixers, knives, and cleaning chemicals.
- Exposure to hot water, potentially slippery floors, and prolonged standing is expected.
- Summer hospitality requires the flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and late hours.
