Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Sales Manager to drive the growth of our additive manufacturing and 3D printing equipment business. This is primarily a field-based, outside sales role focused on developing new business opportunities, expanding strategic accounts, and closing high-value capital equipment sales.
The ideal candidate is a motivated self-starter with a strong hunter mentality and a proven track record of selling complex manufacturing technologies, industrial equipment, automation solutions, or similar technical products. This individual will work independently while collaborating with internal teams to deliver solutions and achieve sales objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Prospect and develop new business opportunities within assigned territories.
- Generate leads through cold calling, networking, referrals, and trade shows.
- Conduct virtual and in-person meetings with prospective and existing customers.
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships throughout the sales cycle.
- Manage sales opportunities from initial contact through closing.
- Maintain accurate sales activity, pipeline, and forecasting data within CRM systems.
- Prepare and present quotes, proposals, and product information.
- Develop relationships with manufacturing partners and industry contacts.
- Stay current on product offerings, industry trends, and additive manufacturing technologies.
- Collaborate with internal departments including marketing, purchasing, logistics, and service teams.
- Support trade shows, marketing initiatives, and customer demonstrations as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of successful sales experience in capital equipment, manufacturing technology, industrial automation, engineering solutions, or other complex technical sales environments.
- Proven track record of generating new business and closing sales opportunities.
- Experience selling high-value equipment or technology solutions.
- Strong prospecting and business development skills.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple opportunities and priorities independently.
- Experience using CRM systems and maintaining accurate sales forecasts.
- Experience working with government agencies, military organizations, or federal contracts is highly desirable.
- Ability and willingness to travel frequently.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with additive manufacturing or 3D printing technologies.
- Familiarity with industrial manufacturing processes and advanced manufacturing solutions.
- Knowledge of government procurement processes, FAR/DFARS regulations, and federal contracting.
- Existing relationships within manufacturing, government, defense, or engineering organizations.
- Military background or experience supporting military and government programs is a plus.
Pay: $63,996.69 - $100,071.28 per year
