Job Summary:
The Radiation Oncology Tech is responsible for operating and maintaining radiation therapy equipment to administer treatments to patients as prescribed by a radiation oncologist. This position involves working closely with patients, physicians, and other healthcare team members to ensure high-quality care and patient satisfaction.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Set up and calibrate radiation therapy equipment for patient treatments
- Position patients accurately for radiation therapy sessions
- Monitor patients during treatments to ensure proper dosage and positioning
- Maintain accurate records of treatment sessions and patient progress
- Educate patients about treatment procedures and possible side effects
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals in the development of treatment plans
- Ensure a safe and clean environment for patients and staff
- Stay current with advances in radiation therapy technology and techniques
Qualifications and Skills:
- Associate's degree in Radiation Therapy or related field
- Certification in Radiation Therapy from an accredited program
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a clinical setting
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
