Ravenscroft is seeking a Middle School English Teacher & Advisor in the Middle School / English Department. This is a full-time, exempt, 10-month position following the academic calendar (August–June).
This role is ideal for someone who is excited to teach english, build relationships with middle school students and grow as an educator within a collaborative school community.
Supervisory Responsibilities: None
What You'll Do
- Teach approximately five sections of Middle School English Language Arts and related electives
- Build strong relationships with students and support diverse learning needs
- Serve as an advisor, supporting students’ academic, social-emotional, and leadership development through the Lead From Here curriculum
- Utilize instructional technology and learning management systems, including Canvas and Veracross, to support teaching, learning, and communication
- Collaborate with colleagues and participate in the broader life of the school

Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in English or a related field
- Strong content knowledge and enthusiasm for teaching Middle School English
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Commitment to working in a diverse, inclusive, and mission-aligned school community
Preferred:
- Experience working with middle school–aged students in any setting
- Experience in a K–12 or independent school environment
- Master’s degree in English or Education (MA or MEd)
- Willingness and ability to participate in the broader school community, including coaching athletics
Work Environment and Physical Demands
This role is based on Ravenscroft’s campus and includes work in classrooms and shared community spaces. The position requires the ability to move throughout campus, lead classroom activities, use instructional technology regularly, and communicate effectively with students and colleagues.
