Summary:

Under the direction of the Director of Slots, the Slot Manager is responsible for the daily operational leadership, financial performance, regulatory compliance, and team development of the Slot Department. This role ensures optimal slot floor performance, superior guest service standards, and strict adherence to Tribal, State, and Federal gaming regulations. The Slot Manager drives revenue growth, operational efficiency, asset protection, and team accountability while maintaining a safe and engaging gaming environment.

Responsibilities:

• Direct and oversee day-to-day slot floor operations to ensure maximum uptime, revenue optimization, and guest satisfaction.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable Tribal, State, and Federal gaming regulations, internal controls, and company policies.
• Develop, implement, and enforce departmental policies, procedures, and service standards.
• Monitor slot performance metrics including coin-in, hold percentages, theoretical win, machine utilization, and game mix performance; make data-driven recommendations to the Director of Slots.
• Oversee slot machine moves, installations, conversions, upgrades, and removals in coordination with vendors and internal departments.
• Ensure preventative maintenance programs are executed to maximize machine uptime and asset longevity.
• Monitor floor presentation standards including cleanliness, lighting, signage, and functionality of self-service kiosks and player-facing equipment.
• Assist in the development and management of the departmental budget, including labor, capital expenditures, and operational expenses.
• Control labor costs while maintaining service standards and regulatory compliance.
• Evaluate game performance and make recommendations for floor optimization and capital reinvestment.
• Recruit, interview, hire, train, evaluate, coach, discipline, and terminate team members in accordance with company policy and applicable laws.
• Provide clear direction, performance feedback, and development planning for direct reports.
• Maintain appropriate staffing levels based on volume trends and operational needs.
• Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, professionalism, and guest-first service.
• Lead by example in maintaining a professional, positive, and solution-oriented work environment.
• Serve as primary liaison between the Slot Department and the Tribal Gaming Commission and Compliance regarding slot operations.
• Ensure strict adherence to internal controls, jackpot verification procedures, Title 31 compliance, and audit requirements.
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive gaming, financial, and personnel information.

WORKING CONDITIONS & ENVIRONMENT

• Must be able to work in a smoke-filled environment.
• Must be able to work all shifts, weekends, holidays & special events as needed.
• Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Must be able to lift or move at least 50 pounds.

LEVEL OF AUTHORITY & RESTRICTIONS

• Directly supervises Slot Supervisors and Slot Technicians; provides operational oversight of all Slot Department personnel.
• Responsible for scheduling, performance management, and disciplinary actions within the department.
• Authorized to make operational decisions impacting the slot floor within approved policies and budget parameters.
• Makes recommendations to the Director of Slots regarding capital expenditures, equipment purchases, and floor strategy.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: 

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Hospitality, or related field preferred.
• Minimum four (4) years of progressive casino experience with at least two (2) years in slot leadership or management required.
• Strong understanding of slot accounting, slot performance analytics, internal controls, and gaming regulations.
• Working knowledge of slot management systems (e.g., IGT Advantage, Aristocrat Oasis, Konami SYNKROS, or similar).
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Demonstrated leadership, organizational, and decision-making skills.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screening and background investigation, including fingerprinting.
• Must be eligible for employment in the United States.
• Must obtain and maintain a valid Tribal Gaming License (High Security).
• Indian Preference will be observed in accordance with Tribal policy.
• Must adhere to strict confidentiality standards.
