Position: Senior Manufacturing Engineer
Duration: 6 months on W2

Pay Rate: $50.00-$56.00/ Hr on W2

Job Description
Medical device manufacturing (or other regulated industry, FDA preferred) is highly preferred.
Metal component manufacturing is nice-to-have (Nitinol or Cobalt Chrome).
Summary
The main function of a Sustaining R&D Engineer is to research, test, and support the design, functionality, and maintenance of products, equipment, systems, and processes. This role requires strong device testing expertise and technical documentation/justification skills while supporting existing commercialized products in a regulated environment.
Job Responsibilities
- Work in a cross-functional environment with Quality, Manufacturing, Clinical, and Regulatory teams to support commercialized products.
- Develop, write, and execute complex test protocols and design verification activities.
- Analyze test results, provide engineering recommendations, and prepare technical reports.
- Generate work instructions, test methods, engineering models, drawings, and prototypes to establish and characterize product or process specifications.
- Create and update design control documentation, including requirement specifications and risk management documents.
- Develop and execute engineering project plans.
- Evaluate, qualify, and provide technical guidance to suppliers by establishing tolerances and defining acceptance criteria.
- Assign R&D support tasks, train technicians, provide feedback, and coordinate testing activities.
- Design and evaluate parts, components, and subsystems to support technical recommendations.
- Review historical technical documentation to identify gaps and develop technical justifications.
- Perform additional engineering duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a Scientific discipline with 5 years of relevant experience, or
- Master's degree in Engineering or a Scientific discipline with 4 years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the medical device industry is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of engineering principles, theories, and product development concepts.
- Knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes related to catheter construction is preferred.
- Excellent technical writing, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; CAD experience is preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and engineering reports.
- Experience with Minitab and basic statistical analysis is preferred.
- Hands-on experience with laboratory or industrial testing equipment.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and critical thinking skills.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes and equipment used in engineering environments.
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams and communicate with senior internal and external stakeholders.
