Position Summary:
Job Summary
- Hands-on Network Administrator with strong Cisco switch configuration experience.
- CCNA certification is mandatory (minimum requirement). Candidates without CCNA are unlikely to be considered.
- Minimum 5 years of networking experience, preferably supporting enterprise/campus networks.
- 100% onsite in Milpitas, CA – no remote or hybrid option.
- Someone who can deploy, configure, and decommission network equipment during campus expansion projects—not someone who designs network architecture.
Must-Have Skills
- CCNA certification (required).
- Experience configuring Cisco Catalyst 9300 switches (most important skill).
- Strong understanding of Layer 2 networking.
- Experience deploying, configuring, and decommissioning Cisco switches.
- Ability to support network changes without causing broadcast storms or network disruptions.
- Experience working on campus network environments.
- 5 years of practical network administration/engineering experience.
Preferred (Nice-to-Have) Skills
- Experience with Arista switches (7050 series).
- Experience with SolarWinds Orion.
- Experience with Cacti monitoring.
- Experience updating monitoring tools after switch deployment/removal.
- Experience in large enterprise environments.
- Network Engineer, Network Operations Engineer, Data Center Technician, or Network Technician backgrounds are all acceptable if they have strong Cisco configuration experience.
What the Candidate Will Do
- Configure and deploy Cisco switches.
- Decommission old network equipment.
- Support ongoing campus expansion and clean room projects.
- Update SolarWinds Orion and Cacti after deployments.
- Participate in project meetings.
- Occasionally assist operations when project work is light.
- Follow engineering designs rather than creating them.
Education
- Education is not important.
- High school diploma is acceptable.
- The manager specifically stated that practical networking skills are much more valuable than advanced degrees.
Experience Level
- Minimum: 5 years.
- More experienced candidates (10 years) are acceptable if they fit the budget.
- A separate senior-level opening may be considered for exceptional candidates with CCNP/CCIE.
Interview Process

- Technical interview with an overseas networking team member.
