📍 Location: Nashville, TN 37243 (Hybrid)
📅 Duration: 12 Months Contract
⏰ Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM CST (37.5 hours/week)
Are you a creative communicator with a passion for public health? We are seeking a Communications Specialist to support statewide maternal health initiatives through strategic communications, content development, graphic design, and community engagement efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
✔ Develop content for websites, newsletters, social media, reports, and print materials
✔ Translate complex health topics into clear, engaging communications
✔ Create culturally relevant and visually compelling educational materials
✔ Produce monthly newsletters and analyze engagement metrics
✔ Prepare quarterly communications performance reports
✔ Support outreach initiatives, public awareness campaigns, and stakeholder engagement
✔ Ensure communications meet accessibility standards (ADA, WCAG, Section 508)
✔ Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and community partners
Qualifications:
🔹 Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, Graphic Design, or related field (or equivalent portfolio experience)
🔹 2–5 years of communications experience in public health, nonprofit, or government settings preferred
🔹 Proficiency with Canva, Microsoft Office Suite, and email marketing platforms such as My Emma
🔹 Strong writing, editing, storytelling, and graphic design skills
🔹 Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a remote environment
🔹 Knowledge of cultural competency and inclusive communications
🔹 Tennessee residency required
