Position: Cath Lab Tech/IR Tech/Intervention Radiologic Tech - Hybrid Role

Duration: 12 Months Contract

Location: Fremont, CA 94538


Pay Rate: $80.00-94.00/ Hr on W2

For Traveler Weekly Gross: $2000.00-$2600/00

Hours: 40 Hrs/ Week

Location: Fremont, CA 94538

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM PT (occasional overtime 2–3 times per month)

Work Arrangement: Hybrid (onsite Tuesday through Thursday, Mondays and Fridays – remote)

Contract Duration: 12 Months


Must-Have Qualifications

  • Education or hands-on work experience in a Cardiac Catheterization (Cath) Lab / Angiography environment.
  • Experience operating Philips or Siemens angiography imaging systems.
  • Knowledge of laboratory operations and radiation safety practices.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of endovascular procedure workflows.


Ideal Backgrounds

  • Hospital or Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory experience.
  • Candidates with experience in endovascular medical device environments.
  • Recent graduates with relevant education and hands-on Cath Lab experience will also be considered.


Typical Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Support simulated testing environments using 3D-printed vascular models (no live patient interaction).
  • Set up simulated "patients" and provide control room support during physician-led testing.
  • Perform post-test cleanup and reset laboratory spaces for subsequent testing.
  • Assist with inventory management and laboratory organization.
  • Ensure compliance with radiation safety procedures, including proper training and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements in accordance with California regulations.


Position Summary

The Senior Imaging & Testing Specialist is responsible for the operation, maintenance, and optimization of advanced imaging systems that support the development of innovative neurovascular and endovascular therapies.

This role partners closely with Research & Development, Clinical, Marketing, and Medical Education teams to execute bench-top, simulated-use, and non-human vascular testing of medical devices throughout the product development lifecycle.

The ideal candidate combines expertise in angiography imaging systems, laboratory operations, radiation safety, and endovascular procedure workflows to support high-quality testing environments that accelerate innovation and successful product development.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Advanced Imaging & Laboratory Operations

  • Operate and optimize monoplane and biplane fluoroscopy imaging systems supporting R&D and bench-top device testing.
  • Support advanced imaging applications including 2D and 3D angiographic visualization, vessel roadmapping, and imaging acquisition.
  • Perform system setup, calibration, software updates, troubleshooting, and routine maintenance of imaging equipment.
  • Coordinate with vendors and technical service providers to resolve equipment issues and maintain operational readiness.
  • Maintain imaging system documentation, compliance records, and medical physicist reports.


Preclinical Device Testing Support

  • Prepare, assemble, and maintain in vitro vascular models used for device evaluations.
  • Support simulated-use testing, proof-of-concept studies, design verification activities, physician training events, and product demonstrations.
  • Provide technical expertise on imaging workflows and endovascular procedural techniques during device evaluations.


Laboratory Readiness & Inventory Management

  • Maintain laboratory organization, cleanliness, and operational readiness.
  • Manage inventory of bench-top testing supplies, consumables, and laboratory equipment.
  • Configure testing spaces for R&D activities, physician events, and internal training.


Safety & Compliance

  • Promote a culture of safety and compliance throughout laboratory operations.
  • Support radiation safety programs, dosimetry monitoring, PPE compliance, and ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) practices.
  • Ensure laboratory activities comply with applicable company policies and regulatory requirements.


Technical Leadership

  • Serve as a subject matter expert for fluoroscopic imaging systems and angiography suite operations.
  • Provide guidance to cross-functional teams regarding imaging best practices and system capabilities.


Education

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Radiologic Technology, Cardiovascular Technology, Biomedical Engineering Technology, or a related technical discipline preferred.
  • Relevant technical certifications in imaging, radiologic technology, or cardiovascular technology are preferred.


Qualifications & Experience

  • Experience operating angiography, fluoroscopy, catheterization laboratory, or interventional imaging systems.
  • Experience with Philips Azurion, Siemens ICONO, GE, or comparable imaging platforms is highly desirable.
  • Experience in healthcare technology environments is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with endovascular, neurovascular, peripheral vascular, or interventional procedural workflows is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with healthcare professionals and cross-functional teams.


Additional Information

  • This is a specialized, highly skilled technical role.
  • Candidates with prior Cath Lab experience are expected to become fully independent in less than 30 days.
  • Candidates with less direct experience may require up to 90 days to reach full proficiency.
