Train Crew Members job summary:
The R.J. Corman Railroad Group seeks qualified candidates to operate trains, perform equipment maintenance, and assist in rail operations.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in all phases of safe daily train operation.
- Operate equipment according to company policies and procedures.
- Perform tasks that require pulling, controlling, and maneuvering onto and off of equipment.
- Work with customers to ensure accurate movement and placement of cars.
- Increase responsibilities expected, including handling locomotive engineering duties.
Specialized or Technical Knowledge:
- Mechanical aptitude and basic reading/math skills required.
- Ability to develop teamwork and work with personnel at all levels.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to perform physical strenuous work.
- Constant standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and balancing required.
- Frequent stooping, kneeling, and crouching required.
- Lifting/carrying objects up to 80 lbs and pushing/pulling up to 150 lbs required.
Environmental Conditions:
Primarily outside environments with frequent exposure to weather elements and moving equipment.
