About the Role:
We are hiring for one of our prime clients seeking a vigilant and responsible Armed Security Officer to ensure the safety and security of patients, staff, and visitors. This role involves maintaining a strong on-site presence, responding to emergencies, and enforcing security protocols across assigned facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct routine patrols of hospital buildings, premises, and surrounding areas
- Act as a visible deterrent to criminal activity and security threats
- Respond promptly to emergency codes, incidents, and disaster situations
- Prepare accurate and timely incident reports with proper documentation
- Enforce organizational policies, procedures, and applicable laws
- Monitor and operate security systems including CCTV, radios, and paging systems
- Manage parking enforcement, lost & found, and property security procedures
- Assist staff in handling difficult or combative individuals when required
- Identify and report safety hazards to maintain a secure environment
- Provide support during high-risk or emotionally charged situations
- Maintain communication with supervisors and respond to service requests efficiently
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum 2 years of armed security experience preferred (or equivalent military service)
- Prior law enforcement or healthcare security experience preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to make quick decisions and handle stressful situations
- Physically fit and capable of prolonged standing, walking, and lifting
Certifications & Compliance:
- Verbal De-escalation training (within 60 days of hire)
- BLS certification (within 60 days of hire)
- Completion of firearms training, weapon handling, and defensive tactics certification
- Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record
- Must pass psychological and background assessments, including MMPI and related evaluations
- Must comply with state-specific licensing requirements (where applicable)
- Subject to random drug screening
