Our client, a manufacturing company in Doraville, is hiring a Quality Control Technician II.
This role is on site 5 days a week.
Reporting to the Quality Engineering Manager, the Quality Control Technician II is responsible for supporting operations by performing in-process and finished goods inspections across a broad epoxy portfolio. The technician ensures all testing complies with engineering standards (ASTM, ISO), customer specifications, and internal requirements.
This role also supports incoming raw material inspection, shelf-life extension, research and development, inventory management, continuous improvement, and safety initiatives. This is a hands-on laboratory role requiring daily preparation of adhesively bonded assemblies and destructive testing.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain and promote a high degree of workplace professionalism
- Work safely with various chemicals and formulations using appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Collaborate and communicate effectively with staff and management to ensure timely delivery of test results
- Demonstrate excellent attention to detail and a continuous improvement mindset
- Operate digital balances, compressed gas cylinders, and basic laboratory equipment
- Machine parts using a band saw, grinding wheel, mill, and other tools per customer requirements
- Prepare adhesively bonded assemblies according to customer drawings and specifications
- Determine mechanical strength of adhesive assemblies using universal test frames (compression, shear, and peel)
- Perform flammability testing using burn chambers
- Evaluate application characteristics of adhesives using viscometers, slump jigs, extruders, and rheometers
- Conduct physical inspections including density, durometer hardness, and fineness of grind
- Analyze and interpret test data and respond to trends
- Support in-process inspections and coordinate key manufacturing processes
- Inspect incoming raw materials to ensure suitability for production
- Maintain accurate records including date, product name, batch number, sample number, and test results using basic software
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality and customer satisfaction
- Participate in Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) activities
