Location: Waukesha, WI (Onsite)
Duration: 6 months
Experience: 8 years mandatory
Job Description:
We are seeking someone with strong design experience, specifically with proven capability in managing end-to-end design change projects from a technical standpoint—not just handling the QMS aspects. The candidate must understand the design being transferred, be able to interpret critical design specifications, and have the ability to validate the design in the lab or MR bays to ensure requirements are met without introducing system level issues. In addition, the candidate should be prepared to address any ATE related questions if the transfer includes new ATE development. We are looking for someone with solid electrical engineering background in Milwaukee.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strong hands-on design engineering experience, with proven capability to lead end-to-end design change and design transfer projects from a technical standpoint (beyond QMS/process execution).
- Ability to understand and interpret transferred designs, including critical design specifications, requirements, and interfaces.
- Experience validating designs in lab environments or MR bays, ensuring requirements are met without introducing system level risks or issues.
- Capability to address ATE-related topics, including support for or review of new ATE development as part of design transfer activities.
- Solid electrical engineering background, with the role based in or near Milwaukee, WI.
- Collaborate effectively within engineering and cross-functional teams.
Mandatory Skills and Skill Proficiencies:
- Background in Electrical Engineering
- Managing end-to-end design change projects from a technical standpoint—not just handling the QMS aspects, make decisions with limited guidance from subject matter expert
- Expert-level electrical design engineer with substantial experience in electrical design, testing & validation including ability to write verification test procedures and test reports
- Strong digital and analog electronics technical background (preferred to have strong analog skills)
- Hands-on experience working with lab test equipment
- Board bring-up, debugging, and root cause analysis
- Experience in coordinating with EMS suppliers and knowledge of ECR/ECO processes is a value add
Engineering Tasks:
- Respond to RFQ questions; review and update engineering drawings and design documentation as needed
- Access to MWS and other tools (DOORS, CAD, etc.) to perform day-to-day activities
- Run ECR/ECO processes from end to end and work with cross-functional teams on creating ECR/ECO plans
- Write verification/validation procedures and conduct testing on various product configurations
- Ability to work in an engineering lab or bay without restrictions
- Respond to supplier technical questions in a timely manner
