We are currently seeking a Telecommunications Specialist. Candidates must be able to work onsite in Frankfort, KY. Candidates must also be prepared to travel as needed for this position. A client vehicle and travel accommodations will be provided.
We are seeking a Telecommunications Specialist who can perform professional level duties in providing new telephone service, modifying existing telephone service, and relocating telephone services.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Evaluates an agency's telephone requirements to determine the number of telephone stations, projected telephone traffic and telephone features needed (e.g., call forwarding, ring transfer, paging, call transfer, and intercom).
- Evaluates the efficiency of an agency's telephone system which includes cost effectiveness.
- Acts as liaison between the agency and the telephone vendor to determine telephone requirements.
- Assists the agency in preparing requests for proposals, technical evaluation of bids and makes recommendations to the agency.
- Negotiates with vendors concerning products and services offered.
- Coordinates the work to be performed with the telephone vendor and agency, assuring that the work is being performed as prescribed and on schedule.
- Maintain contacts with agencies to ensure that telephone service meets the needs and that deficiencies in service are corrected.
- Attend seminars, schools and other training sessions offered by the telecommunications industry to keep abreast with developments.
- Provide expert analysis for configurations, installation, and maintenance of equipment.
- Provide training to technicians and court of justice staff.
- Performs other duties assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in business related field.
- Experience: Associate degree and related job experience will substitute for bachelor’s degree 1:1.
- Education Substitute: Associate with three years of job-related experience or High School diploma with five years of job-related experience
Special Requirements: (Licenses, Regulations, Certificates, Advanced Education):
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s Kentucky license.
Typical Working Conditions & Unique Physical Requirements:
- Work is primarily performed in an office setting.
- Ability to lift and carry at 50 pounds.
- Standing and walking for long periods of time.
- Must be able to climb ladder.
- Travel is required.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.62 - $25.62 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
