Position Summary:
The Benefits Administrator is responsible for the day-to-day administration of employee benefit programs, including health, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, retirement, leave administration, and wellness initiatives. This role ensures compliance with applicable federal and state regulations while providing exceptional customer service to employees and supporting organizational objectives in a high-volume environment.
Essential Functions:
· Administer employee benefits programs including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, FSA/HSA, COBRA, and retirement plans.
· Process employee enrollments, status changes, terminations, and beneficiary updates in HRIS and vendor systems.
· Audit benefit deductions and payroll integrations to ensure accuracy and timely corrections.
· Respond to employee inquiries regarding eligibility, coverage, claims, and plan provisions.
· Coordinate and manage leave of absence programs including FMLA, ADA accommodations, short-term disability, and workers’ compensation interactions.
· Reconcile monthly vendor invoices and resolve billing discrepancies.
· Maintain accurate employee benefits records and ensure confidentiality of sensitive information.
· Assist with annual open enrollment planning, communication, employee education, and system testing.
· Support benefits compliance activities related to ERISA, ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, Section 125, and other applicable regulations.
· Prepare reports, audits, and analytics related to benefits participation, costs, and compliance.
· Partner with payroll, HR, and external vendors to resolve issues and improve processes.
· Assist with development and maintenance of benefits policies, procedures, and employee communications.
· Participate in HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
· Other duties as assigned by management.
Education and Experience:
· Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
· 3–5 years of benefits administration experience, preferably in a high-volume or manufacturing environment.
· Knowledge of employee benefits laws and regulations including ACA, ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, and FMLA.
· Experience working with HRIS and payroll systems.
· Strong analytical, auditing, and problem-solving skills.
· High attention to detail and accuracy.
· Excellent communication and customer service skills.
· Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
