Accounting Specialist

Position Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to join our financial team. In this role, you will play a vital part in executing a wide range of accounting functions, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across our financial operations. Your expertise will support our commitment to transparent financial reporting and sound fiscal management, empowering the organization to achieve its strategic goals.

Essential Job Responsibilities & Functions:

Accounts Payable:

· Daily processing of accepted vendor bills into ERP system

· Accurately process payments in ERP system to vendors as released by Finance Manager according to vendor's preferred payment method including EFTs, ACHs and credit card payments

· Manage employee credit cards, including monthly receipt collection, coding of charges and reconciliation

· Maintain accurate vendor files with associated tax information, credit limits, and payment terms

· Complete credit applications with vendors

· Calculate, file, pay and enter sales and use tax as required by each entity's schedule

Accounts Receivable:

· Apply all payments received to customer accounts in ERP system

· Complete customer billing within ERP system as agreed upon in customer's agreement

· Follow up and monitor Accounts Receivable Aging Reports

· Process customer credit applications

General Accounting:

· Process and approve payroll batches in compliance with laws and regulations

· Complete reconciliations and research discrepancies

· Assist in completion of audits

· Additional duties as assigned

Payroll:

• Serve as back up to Finance Manager for processing bi-weekly payroll as needed

Requirements: Skills & Qualities for

Prior experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable or other finance or accounting related position required

· Strong attention to detail

· Ability to complete work within strict deadlines

· Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills

· Proficiency with Microsoft Office - concentration in Microsoft Excel

· Positive attitude and strong work ethic

· Experience with NetSuite preferred
