SUMMARY: Utilize electric powered polishing wheel to produce desired finish on jewelry products produced from various metals and manufacturing processes. The successful performance of this position requires managing workflow in a manner that meets both company quality standards and individual/team productivity expectations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Polish jewelry, such as charms, earrings, rings, bracelets, and necklaces using an electric powered polishing wheel.
- Select polishing wheel and polishing rouge based on type of metal to be polished and type of finish desired.
- Notify management of production delays when timelines will not be met.
- Wear required Personal Protective Equipment and follow all safety procedures.
- Regular attendance and compliance with the Company’s handbook policies and procedures
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This position does not have direct supervisory responsibilities.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Ability to sit for long periods of time at a polishing wheel, positioned at or above desk-height.
- Ability to see, hold, and pinch small jewelry pieces.
- Ability to read very small print.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to polishing dust, fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration, and moderate heat. The noise level in the work environment can be moderate to loud. Safety requirements for this position includes eye protection, gloves, and a dust mask.
Individuals working in the "secure area" must follow the Company's Secure Area Dress Code and Security policies and procedures. All clothing must be free from metal, and no metal may be worn into the secure area of the building. Any metal inside or outside the body due to a medical condition must be visually inspected, or reasonable accommodation may be made.
POSITION TYPE AND EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:
This is a full-time position, scheduled to work 40 hours per week. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday with flexible start and stop times available within the normal office hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Occasional Saturday work may be necessary during times of heavy volume.
TRAVEL: No travel is required for this position.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or GED, or six months of related experience, education, and/or training.
- 2 years of previous finishing experience.
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Experience with polishing metals or other materials
- Knowledge of production and manufacturing
