The Manager of Financial Planning & Analysis turns complex financial information into clear recommendations that guide company priorities and improve business performance. Working closely with senior finance and business leaders, this individual will oversee critical elements of budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and financial analysis.
This hybrid role in NYC is highly collaborative, providing financial guidance across retail, wholesale, e-commerce, operations, logistics, and corporate functions. The Manager will evaluate results, identify emerging risks and opportunities, and deliver the insights leadership needs to make informed decisions and support continued growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in the annual budgeting process, recurring forecasts, and long-range financial planning, ensuring assumptions reflect current business priorities.
- Review financial results, management reports, and supporting records for accuracy, completeness, and consistency with applicable accounting and reporting standards.
- Build financial models and scenario analyses to evaluate business initiatives, operational changes, and potential investments.
- Evaluate revenue, gross margin, operating expenses, and profitability across retail, wholesale, and e-commerce channels.
- Identify financial trends, risks, and opportunities, translating findings into clear recommendations for leadership.
- Compare actual results with budgets and forecasts, investigate material variances, and explain the underlying business drivers.
- Prepare monthly financial presentations, performance summaries, and corporate reporting packages for senior leadership and headquarters.
- Track financial and operational indicators, including cost of goods sold, inventory performance, returns, discounts, foreign exchange exposure, and operating expenses.
- Assess the financial performance of stores, wholesale partnerships, and other distribution channels through KPI and profitability analysis.
- Develop financial evaluations for new store openings, relocations, renovations, and other capital investments, including feasibility studies, ROI calculations, and scenario modeling.
- Assist with cash flow forecasting, liquidity planning, and working capital initiatives.
- Partner with accounting and finance teams to maintain accurate reporting processes and adherence to applicable tax and regulatory obligations.
- Support internal controls and financial compliance programs in accordance with company policies, governance standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with corporate finance teams to maintain consistency with global financial policies, procedures, reporting expectations, and audit requirements.
- Support internal and external audits by coordinating documentation, responding to information requests, and assisting with follow-up activities.
- Provide ongoing financial guidance to improve operational efficiency, resource allocation, strategic planning, and sustainable growth.
Qualifications
- 5 years of progressive experience in FP&A, accounting, financial reporting, or a related finance function.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline.
- Previous experience in retail, luxury retail, consumer products, or another multichannel business environment is required.
- Strong knowledge of applicable accounting standards and corporate financial reporting practices.
- Demonstrated experience with budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, variance analysis, and scenario planning.
- Experience evaluating financial performance across retail stores, wholesale accounts, and e-commerce operations.
- Background supporting capital investments, store development, business expansion, or similar initiatives, including ROI and financial feasibility analysis.
- Knowledge of cash flow forecasting, liquidity planning, working capital management, and multicurrency financial environments.
- Experience supporting internal and external financial audits.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting and analysis tools.
- Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and financial judgment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain financial information to both finance and non-finance audiences.
- Highly organized and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Collaborative and confident working across functions, markets, and levels of leadership.
- Professional proficiency in Spanish, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
