DEPARTMENT: Towa Golf Course

TYPICAL WORK SCHEDULE (DAYS/HRS PER WEEK): TBD
JOB PURPOSE: Assists the Superintendent or the Assistant Superintendent, in monitoring daily golf course maintenance schedule while insuring proper set up of golf course for daily pay.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Monitors the daily tasks of staff employees to see that they are accomplished correctly and by radio contact with supervisor or assistant. Makes adjustments to accomplish daily tasks in a timely manner.
- Sets up the golf course each day by changing cups, tee markers, moving ropes, checking ball washers, etc.
- Discusses crew performance, task accomplishment, things that need to be done and methods to do them with the Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent.
- Monitors fairway, tees and greens conditions for irrigation, wear color or other irregularities is playing surfaces.
- Helps keep various records up to date, monitors programs and provided input for performance evaluations.
- Serves as interpreter during crew meeting, briefings and to ensure crew members understand the daily instructions.
- Other duties as assigned
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES):
- Must be at least 18 years of age or older
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to perform the majority of the tasks that crew members accomplish daily.
- Familiar with the day to day golf course operations and able to work with people and get the best out of them.
- Must be able to speak English and Spanish and willing to work long hours and on weekends.
- Ability to operate most of the golf course equipment and know daily operations.
- Ability to handle workers in difficult situations; Ability to learn the techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
- Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Ability to associate cause and effect relationships in daily golf course maintenance operations.
REQUIRED EDUCATION OR COMBINATION OF EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High school Diploma or GED
- Three years Supervisor experience
- Five years Maintenance experience
