We’re looking for a Lead Fire Protection Engineer with 10 years of experience in consulting engineering and project management. This is a great fit for someone who’s self-driven, enjoys working as part of a team, and is looking for a role where they have an opportunity to build and oversee the FPE team.
In this role, you’ll support both internal teams and external clients, using your fire protection expertise to analyze, design, and improve systems across a variety of projects.
What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university
- Fire Protection Engineering (FPE) license (issued by any U.S. state)
- 10 years of experience in fire protection engineering
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including presentations
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment
- Willingness to travel up to ~20%
What You’ll Do
- Evaluate existing fire protection systems and design new systems, including suppression, detection, alarm, and mass notification systems
- Interpret and apply building and fire codes
- Manage day-to-day communication with clients and internal teams to keep projects on track
- Lead and support projects, balancing both technical execution and client needs
- Conduct research and develop clear documentation for internal and external use
- Review and provide feedback on team members’ work
- Stay engaged with industry organizations like SFPE and NFPA
