Microsoft Excel Support VBA

Our client, a major refinery, has an immediate need for a Microsoft Excel Support person in Commerce City, CO.

• Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday, with the potential for extended work hours based on business needs
• Anticipated duration: Can begin as soon as 4/6/2026 through 8/28/2026
• Hourly wage: $60-$100 based on experience

The Commerce City Refinery uses an Excel based tool to schedule operations personnel. There are 4 shift teams that work a rotating schedule between days and nights in 8 Divisions. Operators are scheduled on their teams based on job qualifications. Each division has its own scheduling file that was created in Microsoft Excel in 2015. As the tools have aged, functionality has been lost. We are looking for some support to upgrade the existing scheduling tool to make it more functional and less manual.

Update Operator scheduling tools developed in Microsoft Excel in 2015 to return functionality to:

• Ease of entering information for Operator qualifications/classification, teams, and exemptions into the scheduling tool.
• Auto fill exceptions for when individuals will be off the schedule.
• Auto fill Operator schedule incorporating shift teams and job qualifications while excluding those operators with exceptions. Operation schedule includes rotating teams from days to nights.
• Resurrect schedule internal validation tool to ensure individuals are only on the schedule once, all team members are scheduled, schedules OT does not result in an individual being schedule 24 hours or too many days in a row, etc..
• Fill operator schedule with the current and updated tool.

Minimum requirements:

• Expert at Microsoft Excel, including troubleshooting and writing macros/VBA.
• Ability to organize large amounts of information.
• Ability to review contract language to understand how Operator schedules are built and overtime is filled.
