Job Overview:

The Mapping Coordinator II will support the Maps and Records team by overseeing mapping personnel involved in the collection and input of mapping data into Rhode Island Energy GIS Enterprise systems. This role ensures safety, compliance with regulatory goals, and the timely delivery of information critical to the operation of public gas facilities.

Responsibilities:

• Assist the Lead GIS Specialist and/or Supervisor with training, monitoring, and developing personnel, as well as other assigned duties in the Maps and Records department.
• Review, approve, and post maps and records projects.
• Update and maintain backlog databases daily in Rhode Island Energy GIS applications to ensure compliance and safe operations.
• Generate and update various reports to monitor performance against Rhode Island Energy deliverables, including Safety, KPI, and Compliance metrics.
• Maintain the Record Retention database and prepare/process historical documents for storage as per Rhode Island Energy policies.
• Assist in identifying and implementing improvement opportunities in Maps & Records to meet departmental goals.
• Contribute to the design and development of quality assurance practices and procedures in upstream gas Workorder processes to improve cycle time deliverables.
  

• Associate degree in an Engineering discipline or equivalent work experience.
• Preferred: Supervisory experience in an Automated Mapping/GIS environment.
• Desired: Minimum of 2 years of experience in Mapping, Engineering, or Geographic Information Systems (GIS) in a supervisory or drafting capacity.
• Demonstrated supervisory skills to direct, motivate, and develop personnel in mapping and information systems operations.
• Knowledge of Esri GIS Enterprise Systems and the Utility Network.
• Familiarity with federal, state, and municipal codes and regulations, as well as company standards and policies.
• Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.

Pay Range: $38.00 - $40.00
