As our Project Engineer or Senior Project Engineer for our Engineering team in Tucson, AZ, you will support or lead the planning, modeling, and design of stormwater, flood control, and drainage systems. You'll collaborate with clients, regulatory agencies, and internal teams to deliver high-quality water resources projects, with increasing responsibility based on experience.

What You'll Do
You will support or lead water resources & flood control related projects and provide related technical efforts to multi-disciplinary engineering projects on water resources projects, including hydrologic and hydraulic analysis, drainage design, and stormwater management.
- Technical Design & Analysis: Develop hydrologic and hydraulic models using industry-standard tools and contribute to or lead stormwater and flood control planning, studies and design.
- Project Delivery & Documentation: Prepare technical reports, memoranda, construction plans, specifications, and cost estimates, while also supporting or leading project scoping, budgeting, and schedule development.
- Client & Agency Coordination: Coordinate with clients, regulatory agencies, and internal teams, and support municipal drainage reviews and development permitting processes.
- Quality Control & Technical Review: Perform technical reviews and provide quality control support for project deliverables.
- Mentorship & Team Contribution: Participate in mentoring, knowledge sharing, and overall team development initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from an accredited university
- Arizona Professional Engineer (PE) license, or ability to obtain within 6 months.
- 4–10 years of progressively responsible experience in water resources engineering
- Experience with hydrology and hydraulics, stormwater, water and wastewater design, estimating, and permitting
- Exposure to or proficiency with hydrologic and hydraulic analysis tools such as HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, FLO-2D, HY-8, Hydraflow Storm Sewers, Autodesk Storm and Sanitary Sewer Analysis, and/or XPSWMM, GIS software.
- Proficiency with Civil3D (preferred) or OpenRoads
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in both independent and team environments
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with MicroStation and ArcGIS
- Municipal or public-sector project experience
- Interest in technical leadership, mentoring, and client-facing responsibilities
- Ability to grow into increased project management or technical oversight roles
