MRI Technologist - PRN

Role Overview: The PRN MRI Technologist performs magnetic resonance imaging procedures to produce diagnostic cross-sectional images, ensuring patient safety and image quality. They independently operate MRI equipment, administer contrast agents following legal guidelines, and communicate effectively with healthcare teams, patients, and visitors. The role involves maintaining proficiency, adhering to policies, and providing high-quality imaging services. Flexibility is essential to respond promptly to coverage needs and perform at least one shift in a 30-day period.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure patient safety through pre-screening, aseptic techniques, and zone restrictions.
• Produce high-quality images adhering to protocols and standards, demonstrating equipment competency.
• Communicate effectively with staff, radiologists, and patients while maintaining confidentiality.
• Administer contrast safely, including starting IVs and managing vascular access devices.
• Train and orient new staff members and assist leadership with additional duties as needed.
  
  

Qualifications & Skills

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree preferred.
• ARRT(MR) or ARMRIT certification; state license if applicable.
• CPR/BLS certification; ACLS if required.
• Minimum of 3 years technologist experience and ability to work across multiple locations.
• Strong customer service, organizational, and critical thinking skills.
• Proficiency with EMR, PACS, and DICOM systems; basic computer skills.
  
  

Physical & Other Requirements: Ability to handle physical tasks, work in magnetic and weather-exposed environments, and travel locally as needed.
