Key Responsibilities
- Collect and assess comprehensive patient health data
- Monitor critical vital signs and respond to life-threatening situations
- Provide direct patient care and manage treatment plans effectively
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Educate patients and families on medications, procedures, and care plans
- Advocate for patients throughout their care journey
- Utilize electronic health records (EHR) to document and improve patient care
- Minimum 1 year of recent acute care ICU Stepdown RN experience (Candidates with 3 years of Cardiac PCU or Multisystem PCU experience are also encouraged to apply)
- Active Florida RN license or compact license (with ability to obtain FL license within required timeframe)
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred
- BLS certification (within 30 days of start)
- NIH Stroke Scale certification (within 30 days of start)
- ACLS certification (within 6 months of start)
- 15-bed ICU Stepdown unit
- Nurse-to-patient ratio: typically 3:1 (may extend to 4:1)
- Exposure to drips and long-term ventilated patients
