The Category Manager Drives strategic sourcing, contract negotiations, and cost optimization for medical/non-medical supplies and services. Ensure vendor compliance and partner with stakeholders to enhance total cost of ownership and supply chain efficiency.
Job Responsibilities:
- Own and execute end-to-end category strategies, including leading strategic sourcing events, aligning initiatives to long-term objectives, governing implementation and adoption, measuring performance, and driving continuous improvement across cost, service, risk and value.
- Design, implement, and continuously enhance buying programs and preferred supplier frameworks to aggregate purchasing power, standardize materials and suppliers, improve service levels, and strengthen accountability across the organization.
- Serve as the primary point of accountability for assigned categories by partnering with internal and external stakeholders to define requirements, influence demand and standards, manage expectations, and foster collaborative, performance-driven supplier relationships.
- Contribute to the broader evolution and reputation of the Procurement function by promoting disciplined spend management, operation excellence, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Negotiate and review NDA's, Contracts and Agreements with key Suppliers.

- Experience leading process improvement and standardization initiatives.
- Proven experience in category management or a related field.
- Strong understanding of category management principles, developing multi-year category strategies, and translating insights into measurable business outcomes.
- Ability to operate independently while collaborating effectively within a cross-functional team-oriented environment.
- Strong negotiation, analytical and contract management.
- Ability to negotiate with vendors and influence internal stakeholders.
- Proficient in data analysis to identify trends and opportunities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
- Results oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and drive initiatives from strategy through execution and ongoing performance management.
- Analyze spending, and supply chain data to identify savings, and improve (TCO).
- Partner with clinical staff, internal stakeholders and legal team to standardize products and improve operational efficiency.
