Associate Attorney - Litigation

Our client is an AV-rated civil litigation firm with a 40-year history in Sacramento, is seeking a newly licensed attorney to work directly under the direction of a senior partner defending public entities in civil litigation matters.

This position is designed for an attorney with 1-3 years of experience who is looking for hands-on training and guidance to develop into a skilled litigator. The supervising attorney handles all aspects of civil litigation, including pre-litigation investigation, pleadings, discovery, law and motion, trials, and appeals.

Responsibilities

• Analyze cases and develop litigation strategies.
• Research and handle unique and complex legal issues.
• Draft and respond to written discovery.
• Take and defend depositions.
• Draft and argue significant law and motion matters, including dispositive motions.
• Assist with mediations and arbitrations.
• Participate in trial preparation.
• Handle various aspects of civil litigation under the guidance of senior attorneys.
  
  

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of litigation experience.
• California State Bar License required.
• Doctorate degree required.
• Strong interest in developing litigation skills through hands-on experience.
• Ability to handle challenging legal work and actively participate in the litigation process.

Compensation

$110,000 - $130,000 per year
