- Lead conceptual and preliminary design of composite airframe structures and system interfaces.
- Develop CAD models and model-based definitions using advanced design tools.
- Perform feasibility studies balancing performance, weight, and cost objectives.
- Own the full design lifecycle including sizing, analysis, design reviews, and production release.
- Conduct structural and joint sizing calculations for composite structures.
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams to ensure designs are production-ready.
- Coordinate with suppliers and support design for manufacturability efforts.
- Establish design standards, best practices, and engineering processes.
- Provide technical leadership and mentor junior engineers.
- Work cross-functionally to ensure designs meet certification and regulatory requirements.
- Support fabrication, bonding, and assembly processes for composite structures.
- Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
- 7 years of experience in composite structure design for aerospace or high-performance vehicles.
- Expertise in composite materials, laminate design, and structural analysis.
- Proficiency in CAD tools such as Siemens NX and composite design tools like Fibersim.
- Experience with full product lifecycle from concept through production.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, bonding, and assembly techniques.
- Familiarity with aviation standards and certification requirements.
- Experience with PLM systems is a plus.
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
