What are the responsibilities and job description for the Solutions Architect position at Propel?
💡 Forward Deployed Engineer – US (Remote, Customer-Facing) 💡
I’m partnering with a fast-growing, venture-backed SaaS company that’s transforming how field teams operate across industries such as utilities, construction, and other safety-critical environments.
They’re hiring Forward Deployed Engineers to work directly with enterprise customers across the US, embedding their platform and delivering high-impact, tailored solutions.
This is a hands-on, hybrid role blending engineering, solution architecture, and customer delivery. You’ll spend time with customers on-site, integrating technology, automating workflows, and driving real-world outcomes, while helping shape an AI-enabled platform used globally.
What You’ll Do
- Work directly with enterprise customers across the US (travel required, especially early on; travel fully compensated).
- Prototype, build, and deploy custom solutions integrating the platform with customer data and workflows.
- Design and implement automation and intelligent workflow tools.
- Act as a solutions architect in the field, translating customer needs into robust technical implementations.
- Feed customer insights back into product and engineering teams to influence the roadmap.
- Collaborate closely with engineering, product, and customer success teams to deliver measurable impact.
What We’re Looking For
- Strong hands-on experience in software engineering (Python-heavy, APIs, cloud; frontend frameworks such as React, Angular, or similar are a plus).
- Experience solving complex, real-world customer problems in production environments.
- Comfortable in customer-facing roles, from hands-on technical teams through to senior stakeholders.
- Adaptable, entrepreneurial mindset; thrives in fast-paced, high-growth environments.
- Interest or exposure to AI-driven systems (e.g. automation, LLMs, RAG-style workflows) — depth not required, curiosity essential.
- Experience in construction, utilities, or other safety-critical industries is a bonus.
📍 Location
- US-based, remote with frequent customer-site travel
- Office hub: Houston
đź’° Compensation
- $140,000–$160,000 base salary
- Bonus
- Travel fully compensated
If you enjoy working directly with customers, building real solutions, and seeing your work deployed in the field, I’d love to speak.
