Plant Modeling Engineer (Onsite)
Location: Warren, MI (Onsite)
We are seeking a skilled Plant Modeling Engineer to support advanced virtual engineering initiatives for automotive electrical systems. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in plant modeling, electrical system simulation, and Software-in-the-Loop (SiL) development, with expertise in Synopsys Saber, MATLAB/Simulink, Simscape, and FMU-based co-simulation.
This is an onsite opportunity for engineers passionate about developing high-fidelity simulation models for next-generation vehicle electrical systems.
- Develop and maintain plant models for automotive electrical components and systems.
- Create and validate models using Synopsys Saber, MATLAB/Simulink, and Simscape.
- Build and integrate Software-in-the-Loop (SiL) simulation environments.
- Develop and integrate Functional Mockup Units (FMUs) for co-simulation.
- Perform electrical system simulations including:
- Charge Balance
- Fail-Operational Analysis
- Bus Integrity
- Short Circuit Analysis
- 12V/48V Component Sizing
- Analyze simulation results and recommend design improvements.
- Model electrical components including generators, batteries, lighting, HVAC systems, and electronic controllers.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to support vehicle electrical architecture development.
- Document model assumptions, validation results, and technical findings.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Controls Engineering.
- 3 years of experience in design, analysis, or testing of 12V/48V automotive electrical systems.
- Strong proficiency with:
- Synopsys Saber
- MAST Modeling Language
- MATLAB
- Simulink
- Simscape
- Experience developing Software-in-the-Loop (SiL) models.
- Experience with FMUs (Functional Mockup Units) and co-simulation.
- Strong understanding of:
- Electric circuit analysis

- Experience modeling:
