Position Summary
The Production Expeditor (Entry-Level) supports the timely movement of materials and parts needed for production. This role focuses on tracking orders, communicating status, and helping resolve basic material issues to keep builds on schedule.
This is an ideal role for someone starting a career in supply chain, operations, or manufacturing who is highly organized, responsive, and eager to learn.
Key Responsibilities
Order & Material Tracking
- Track purchase orders, work orders, and material deliveries
- Follow up with internal teams and suppliers on order status
- Update tracking tools and systems with current delivery information
Production Support
- Assist in monitoring material availability for upcoming builds
- Notify planners or supervisors of potential delays or shortages
- Help ensure parts are delivered to the right place at the right time
Communication & Coordination
- Communicate with buyers, planners, and production teams for status updates
- Support daily or weekly check-ins on material readiness
- Escalate issues to senior team members when needed
Data Entry & Systems
- Enter and maintain accurate data in ERP systems such as NetSuite or Deltek Costpoint
- Maintain simple tracking logs (Excel, Smartsheet, or similar tools)
- Support reporting by keeping information up to date and organized
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required)
- 0–2 years of experience in:
- Manufacturing, warehouse, logistics, OR
- Administrative / coordination roles
- Basic computer skills (Excel, email, data entry)
- Strong organizational and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)
- Exposure to manufacturing or supply chain environments
- Familiarity with ERP systems (training will be provided)
- Interest in operations, procurement, or production planning
