Master’s degree in School Counseling, Counseling or a related field, active School Counselor license and 1 years School Counselor experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A full-time Counselor position is available for the current school year at a high school serving grades 9-12 in Saratoga Springs, NY. This contract opportunity begins immediately and extends through June 26. The role involves managing a caseload of approximately 237 students, providing comprehensive counseling services to support their academic, social, and emotional growth.

Key Responsibilities:

• Offer individual and group counseling tailored to high school students needs.
• Collaborate with teachers, families, and administrators to develop effective support plans.
• Assist students with academic planning, career exploration, and personal development.
• Address social and emotional challenges to promote a positive learning environment.
• Maintain accurate records and participate in student support meetings.
• Uphold confidentiality and comply with ethical and legal standards in counseling.

Qualifications:

• Valid counseling certification/licensure for K-12 education.
• Experience working with high school students in academic or counseling roles.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage a high caseload effectively.
• Commitment to fostering a safe and inclusive school climate.
• Availability to work on-site during scheduled hours (7:30 AM 2:40 PM); virtual work is not an option.
