A school-based paraprofessional position is available to support a self-contained middle school classroom serving students ages 8-13 with autism. This contract opportunity begins ASAP and extends through January 2026, with approximately 30 hours per week. The classroom includes a caseload of students who are non-verbal and may demonstrate challenging behaviors such as kicking, biting, and hitting. The paraprofessional will work in one middle school building.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with daily classroom activities, supporting students' learning and engagement
• Provide direct care and supervision, including toileting assistance as required
• Manage and support behavior strategies tailored to students with autism and aggressive behaviors
• Collaborate closely with teachers and support staff to maintain a safe and structured environment

Qualifications:

• Associates degree or higher required
• Minimum of 2 years direct experience as a paraprofessional in a school setting
• Ability to work effectively with children with autism and behavioral challenges
• Patience, empathy, and strong communication skills are essential
