Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education, active DHH teaching certification, and 1 years Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
This position offers an opportunity to provide specialized educational support as a Teacher for Deaf and Hard of Hearing middle school students within a contract setting. The role is designed to serve a small caseload, offering focused and personalized instruction and support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized educational services to two middle school students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
- Develop and implement tailored instructional strategies and IEP goals aligned with each students needs
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to facilitate student success
- Monitor and document student progress and communicate regularly with stakeholders
- Utilize assistive technologies and adaptive communication methods to enhance learning
Qualifications:
- Certification or licensure specifically for teaching students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
- Experience working with middle school-aged students in a special education or related setting
- Strong communication skills, including proficiency in relevant sign language modalities
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
- Commitment to providing equitable access and fostering a positive learning environment
