This position offers the opportunity to serve as an Onsite Behavior Intervention Specialist (BIS) supporting multiple elementary schools within a dynamic school district in the Anoka area. Starting January 5, 2026, through June 5, 2026, this role involves delivering specialized behavioral support to promote positive student outcomes in a collaborative educational environment.
Key responsibilities include consulting and implementing positive behavior interventions and supports (PBIS), conducting functional behavior assessments, and working closely with school teams including another BIS and a Special Education Administrator. The specialist will support students across four elementary schools by reinforcing positive behaviors, utilizing de-escalation techniques, and redirecting inappropriate behaviors as needed. The role also involves the use of restrictive procedures when necessary, supporting the development and implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs), and providing behavioral training to staff. Data-driven decision-making guides programming tailored to individual student needs, and adaptability in managing crisis situations is essential.
Candidates may hold a BCBA certification or be a licensed Special Education Teacher with a tier 3 or 4 license. The specialist will collaborate with staff to ensure a positive and safe learning environment while ensuring compliance with all district policies and procedures.
Position Details:
- Location: Anoka, MN area, supporting four elementary schools
- Schedule: MondayFriday, approximately 8:30 a.m. to 4:10 p.m., 37.5 hours per week

Desired Qualifications:
