Financial Controller

This is a senior leadership role focused on building internal systems, improving reporting and controls, leading the accounting team, and partnering with the executive team on financial strategy and operational decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Lead the company’s finance and accounting function, including reporting, close, controls, cash flow, and financial operations

• Build and improve internal systems, processes, workflows, and controls to support continued growth

• Oversee financial reporting and provide clear visibility into company and portfolio performance

• Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting and finance team while driving accountability and execution

• Partner with the executive team on budgeting, forecasting, strategic planning, and key financial decisions

• Manage banking, lender, and external accounting relationships as needed

• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency through technology, automation, AI tools, and better reporting processes

• Ensure accurate books, clean records, timely reporting, and strong financial discipline across the organization

Requirements

• Strong accounting and finance leadership experience

• Experience as a Controller, Senior Controller, VP of Finance, or similar senior finance/accounting leader

• Real estate experience preferred

• Proven ability to build systems, improve processes, lead teams, and bring structure to a growing organization

• Strong financial reporting, controls, cash flow, and operational finance experience

• Comfortable partnering with ownership and senior leadership on financial strategy and business decisions

• Forward-thinking and technology-oriented, with an interest in using AI, automation, and modern tools to improve efficiency and visibility

• Strong communication, leadership presence, organization, and attention to detail
