Overview
Our practice is seeking a medical billing specialist to join our team! Single, beautiful office location in West San Jose. Experience as a medical billing specialist required (experience obtaining prior authorizations is a plus). Seeking candidates who are dependable, friendly, proactive and have excellent communication skills. May largely work from home but must be readily reachable by phone.
Duties
- Verify patient insurance coverage.
- Submitting authorization requests for specific procedures and medical treatments.
- Maintaining follow-up communication with insurance companies.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Experience as a medical biller (with experience in ophthalmology a plus).
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
- The ability to communicate in a professional, courteous and efficient manner
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with healthcare team members.
- A commitment to ongoing professional development in the medical field.
- Ability to work effectively as a team member who is flexible, cooperative and willing to assist others
