Household Assistant

We are seeking a thoughtful, detail-oriented, and emotionally intuitive individual to support the day-to-day flow of a private home.

This role is centered around maintaining a calm, organized, and well-cared-for environment, along with providing light, natural companionship to an older family member.

The ideal candidate is someone who takes genuine pride in their work, anticipates needs without being asked, and brings a warm, grounded presence into the home.

Schedule

• 2 days per week to start (flexible)
• Approximately 4–6 hours per day
• Opportunity for additional hours over time, if mutually desired

Key Responsibilities

Household Support (Primary Focus)

• Maintaining a clean, orderly, and well-functioning home environment
• Light housekeeping (tidying, laundry, dishes, resetting spaces)
• Organizing kitchen, pantry, and household systems
• Grocery shopping and running errands
• Managing and restocking household supplies
• Supporting the overall flow and upkeep of the home with a proactive mindset

Kitchen & Food Organization

• Grocery planning and shopping
• Light meal prep or simple food support as needed(This is not a cooking-heavy role — organization and support are the priority)

Companionship & Presence

• Providing a warm, respectful, and easygoing presence in the home
• Engaging in light conversation and day-to-day interaction
• Encouraging gentle routines such as fresh air or short walks when appropriate
• Creating an overall sense of ease and comfort in the environment

Ideal Candidate

• Naturally organized with a strong attention to detail
• Warm, kind, and emotionally intelligent
• Self-directed and proactive, with a quiet sense of initiative
• Enjoys creating a peaceful, well-run home environment
• Comfortable around older adults in a natural, respectful way
• Discreet, trustworthy, and professional in a private home setting

Preferred (but not required):

• Background in caregiving, companion care, hospitality, or personal assistance
• Experience supporting older adults in a non-clinical or lightly supportive capacity

What This Role Is Not

• Not a formal or clinical caregiving position
• Not a high-pressure or rigid environment
• Not centered around full-time cooking or intensive care

Compensation

• Competitive hourly or daily rate based on experience
