Responsibilities
- Perform detailed data analysis and validation across healthcare data sources (claims, enrollment, eligibility, provider, and clinical data).
- Write and optimize complex SQL queries to extract and manipulate large datasets.
- Compare data between multiple systems or data sources to identify discrepancies and ensure data integrity.
- Collaborate with business and technical teams to understand data requirements and translate them into actionable insights.
- Support data quality initiatives by identifying data gaps, inconsistencies, and process improvement opportunities.
- Prepare clear documentation of data findings, logic, and processes.
- Assist in the design and maintenance of dashboards, reports, and KPIs for business stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare data standards (HIPAA, CMS, NCQA, etc.).
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Public Health, or related field.
- 3–6 years of experience as a Data Analyst within the healthcare payer domain.
- Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with data querying, joins, aggregations, and performance tuning.
- Hands-on experience working with claims, eligibility, member, or provider data.
- Ability to analyze large and complex datasets from multiple systems and reconcile data inconsistencies.
- Proficient with tools such as Excel, Power BI, or Tableau for data visualization and reporting.
- Strong understanding of healthcare data models, payer workflows, and standard data formats (e.g., 837/835).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and strong attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills to present data insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience with Python or R for data analysis and automation.
- Familiarity with ETL tools or data integration platforms.
- Knowledge of Medicare Advantage, Medicaid, or commercial payer processes.
