The Prince George’s County Office of the County Executive is currently seeking qualified applicants to fill an Executive Administrative Aide (Executive Administrative Aide-G), grade 21 position in the Inspector General Division.
About The Position
This is the highest level of responsible secretarial and administrative support work in the County. As such, incumbents are restricted to reporting to the Inspector General for the Office of the County Executive. An employee at this level performs highly responsible administrative and executive secretarial work characterized by managing and coordinating overall office duties and activities. An incumbent may provide administrative/secretarial support to an independent board or commission. Work requires knowledge and experience and initiative to perform assignments not covered by established procedures. Employees exercise sound independent judgment. Typically, incumbents supervise and develop innovative practices to improve office efficiency. Contacts are diverse, valuing County employees, elected officials, business organizations and citizens.

The County Executive, Aisha Braveboy, is the chief executive officer of the Prince George’s County Government and is the highest-ranking elected official in the County. As head of the executive branch of government, the County Executive is responsible for the operation of all executive departments, offices, and agencies. This responsibility includes the delivery of services to County residents and business citizens, as well as the implementation and enforcement of the laws of Prince George's County. The Office of the County Executive is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of County government and includes the Chief Administrative Officer, the Chief of Staff, Deputy Chief Administrative Officers, and several internal divisions. Prince George’s County is the second most populous county in Maryland, and borders Washington, D.C. as well as five Maryland counties. - Coordinates special projects to relieve the Inspector General of administrative details.
- Researches and analyzes various issues to assist with planning, developing, and implementing County-wide programs.
- Manages the schedule/calendar for the Inspector General.
- Coordinates travel and expense reporting for the Inspector General.
- Drafts and prepares memorandum and letters for signature of the executive leaders.
- Serves as liaison for various functions within the Inspector General operational functions.
Minimum Qualifications
Candidates must meet all minimum qualifications listed below to be eligible for additional consideration:
- Associate's degree from an accredited college or university in Business Administration or Secretarial Science.
- At least 1 year of previous experience at the Administrative Aide IV level OR three (3) years of senior level secretarial/administrative experience which involved working with the public, office management and operational details, and staff supervision.

- Pass an administered Administrative Aide exam. Applicants who have previously taken and passed the exam on or after 8/1/2024 will not be required to re-test. Previous passing test scores will be applied.
