Primary Services is excited to announce the Revenue Accountant I role for our client, a large international energy investment subsidiary with substantial U.S. gas-asset operations. This position plays a key role in ensuring accurate revenue and production accounting for both operated and non-operated properties. The Revenue Accountant is responsible for monthly revenue close activities, accruals, compliance with regulatory requirements, and timely reporting to internal and external stakeholders. This position also supports process enhancements and delivers clear communication of financial results to leadership.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and record month-end accruals and execute full-cycle revenue close processes.
- Ensure accurate revenue recognition in compliance with accounting policies and contractual agreements.
- Assist with monthly production accounting, including well-level production and sales volume analysis.
- Maintain compliance with state tax authorities, royalty obligations, and applicable regulatory agencies.
- Prepare and distribute monthly operational reporting, including budget versus actual analysis.
- Support reporting requirements for working interest partners, royalty owners, and governmental entities.
- Maintain and improve internal control frameworks to ensure accuracy and reliability of financial data.
- Provide support for internal and external audit requests and documentation.
- Develop and enhance Excel- and system-based reporting tools for data analysis and ad hoc requests.
- Contribute to special projects focused on accounting process improvement and efficiency gains.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
- Minimum of 2 years of revenue accounting or regulatory accounting experience in an E&P or public accounting environment.
- Experience with ERP systems (Quorum preferred or comparable platform).
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting concepts.
- Knowledge of state and federal regulatory requirements related to energy production accounting.
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Experience analyzing large data sets and developing structured reporting outputs.
- CPA designation preferred or in progress.
- Familiarity with audit support processes and internal control documentation.
