A leading manufacturing organization serving the energy industry is seeking a Procurement Category Specialist to join its Corporate Procurement team. The Procurement Category Specialist will develop sourcing strategies, manage supplier relationships, execute competitive sourcing events, and identify opportunities to reduce costs while supporting business objectives across multiple locations.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategic sourcing strategies for assigned MRO categories.
• Conduct market research and supplier evaluations to identify cost savings and sourcing opportunities.
• Prepare, issue, and manage RFQs and RFPs.
• Negotiate contracts, pricing, commercial terms, and discount structures with suppliers.
• Build and maintain strong supplier relationships while supporting long-term procurement objectives.
• Analyze spending trends and develop category sourcing plans.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand operational requirements and business priorities.
• Track procurement performance metrics and report sourcing results.
• Support multiple sourcing projects while ensuring deadlines and business objectives are achieved.
• Comply with corporate procurement policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• At least three years of procurement or supply chain experience, preferably within the oil and gas industry.
• Experience developing and implementing strategic sourcing strategies for MRO categories.
• Experience executing RFQs and RFPs.
• Strong contract negotiation and supplier relationship management experience.
• Knowledge of strategic sourcing, contract management, and supply chain fundamentals.
• Experience collaborating with internal stakeholders to develop sourcing solutions that support business needs.
• Proficiency with Oracle Cloud, Oracle EBS, JD Edwards, Glovia, or similar procurement and ERP systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and successfully complete complex projects.
