We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled PC Board Assembler to join our production team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the accurate and efficient assembly of electronic components onto Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs) following established procedures and quality standards. This role requires excellent manual dexterity, a commitment to quality, and the ability to work effectively in a manufacturing environment.
Skill Requirements for an Electronics Assembler
- Fine Motor Skills & Dexterity: Exceptional hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for handling small components and performing intricate soldering and assembly tasks.
- Blueprint and Schematic Interpretation: Ability to accurately read, understand, and follow assembly drawings, blueprints, schematics, and work instructions.
- Soldering Proficiency: Demonstrated experience and proficiency in both through-hole and surface mount technology (SMT) soldering, adhering to IPC standards.
- Tool Competency: Familiarity and competence in using common assembly tools such as soldering irons, de-soldering equipment, basic hand tools, and measuring instruments (e.g., calipers).
- Attention to Detail & Quality Focus: Strong focus on precision, accuracy, and quality control to ensure all assemblies meet specified requirements and minimize defects.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Component Placement and Installation: Precisely place, insert, and secure electronic components (e.g., resistors, capacitors, integrated circuits) onto PCBs according to provided documentation.
- Soldering Operations: Perform various soldering techniques, including manual and/or touch-up soldering, to establish reliable electrical connections on assembled boards.
- Inspection and Rework: Conduct visual inspections of assembled PCBs for defects, misplaced components, and faulty solder joints; perform necessary rework or repair following quality standards.
- Testing and Troubleshooting: Assist with basic functional testing of completed assemblies using established procedures and report any issues or failures to the appropriate personnel.
- Documentation and Maintenance: Accurately complete required production logs and documentation; maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace and ensure tools and equipment are properly cared for.
