What are the responsibilities and job description for the Machine Builder position at PrideStaff?
PRIDESTAFF is currently seeking a qualified MACHINE BUILDER for a large electronics manufacturing company located in Bolingbrook, IL. We are looking for someone with strong mechanical skills, machine assembly experience, and troubleshooting abilities. You will be working collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
This is a TEMP-TO-HIRE position

1st shift 6am-2:30pm M-F
$20-$23 per hour DOE
Primary Job Duties:
- Build and assemble production tools (including custom tools)
- Assemble equipment to engineering specifications
- Produce wire termination request samples for customers
- Provide customer service and repairs
- Keep good Documentation
- Set up and operate inspection equipment to perform incoming inspection
- Perform incoming inspection that is not routed through quality
- Rework parts as needed such as surface grind, vertical milling, lathe work
- Contribute to the development of production tools and/or improve existing designs
- Diagnose customer tool needs, quote needed parts and labor, replace parts and set up per engineering specifications to ship back to customer in like new condition
- Provide customer service and training via phone, email, and on-site visits
- Support engineering: produce crimp samples, perform pull tests, cross section finished goods, etc.
- Set up, run, troubleshoot, and maintain wire processors, bench crimp presses, and hand crimp tools
- Assist in driving environmental health and safety initiatives such as compliance and documentation
- Learn non-inventory purchasing, keep stock levels, create purchase requisitions, etc.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Must be a self-starter.
- Must be proactive rather than reactive to successfully accomplish tasks and meet deadlines
- Must possess a mechanical aptitude
- At least 1-3 years of experience in machining
- Ability to communicate to a variety of backgrounds, personalities, and positions
- Basic knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Outlook and/or other software programs
- Problem solving and decision-making skills
- Ability to read and interpret bill of materials, assembly drawings, and instructions
- SAP business software experience PREFERRED
- Coupa purchasing software experience PREFERRED
- High school diploma or equivalent
Additional Preferred Experience:
- Experience as a toolmaker, machine builder, or equivalent experience
- Technical Trade School Degree, Journeyman Tool & Die Certification
