This crucial role manages diverse accounting functions, including client billing, preparing financial records, coordinating regional tax collections, and ensuring accurate and timely period-end closing. Location: Sterling, VASchedule: Mon-Fri, 9:00am-5:00pmCompensation: $30.00/hr-$36.00/hr Responsibilities: Ledger Maintenance and ReconciliationPrepare and process new journal entries, verifying they are properly documented and allocated.Perform periodic reconciliations and upkeep for various GL accounts, such as bank accounts, funds paid in advance (prepaid expenses), and estimated liabilities (accrued liabilities).Investigate and resolve any financial discrepancies identified within the GL accounts.Financial Closing ProcessesProvide support to ensure the accurate and timely finalization of monthly and annual closing activities.Develop and analyze key financial statements (including the Income Statement and Balance Sheet) for review by management.Confirm the proper entry of all required revenue deferrals and expense accruals.Payables and Receivables SupportAssist with Accounts Payable activities, which includes processing vendor invoices and reconciling supplier accounts.Aid in Accounts Receivable functions, such as customer billing and efforts related to debt collection.Asset Management:Manage the log of fixed assets, including documentation for asset purchases (acquisitions) and retirements (disposals).Calculate and track the routine monthly depreciation expense.Compliance and ReportingEnsure the organization's adherence to all necessary reporting requirements and tax submissions mandated by federal, state, and local governments.Generate requested financial analyses, budgets, and other reports for internal management.Pinpoint areas where accounting workflow and processes can be streamlined for greater efficiency.
