Accounting Assistant needed for a company in Irvine that manufactures food processing equipment.Direct Hire position paying $43K-45K/yr, plus an annual bonus of about $5K. Hours are Monday - Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM. Company has Medical, Dental, Vision, Life and a 401K plan after 90 day probation. NOT a remote or hybrid position.This position is responsible for maintaining the accuracy of accounts while updating the accounts payable and receivable sub-ledgers.Responsibilities:Accounts Payable: Process vendor invoices in Sage 50, prepare payment checks and reports promptly, and handle vendor inquiries.Accounts Receivable: Enter sales invoices in Sage 50, distribute invoices, and process daily cash receipts (check, wire, cash).Reconciliation & Collection: Execute bank and credit card reconciliations. Manage collections by sending statements and communicating with customers regarding aged receivables.Payroll: Assist the Accounting Manager with payroll processing by verifying OT and PTO.Filing & Support: Organize and file vendor records. Provide general office assistance for special events. (Requires ability to lift up to 10 lbs.)Requirements:Min 2-3 years experience in accounting.Min AA degree, or Bachelor's degree with Accounting Major.High interpersonal and communication skills with customers.Excellent Microsoft Word and Excel Skills. Company will train on Sage 50.Interest in Japanese culture is a plus.
