Our client is a growing, employee-owned, fee-only Registered Investment Advisor serving families, business owners, physicians, and nonprofit organizations across the United States. The firm operates with a fiduciary-first philosophy, a collaborative team-based service model, and a long-term focus on developing advisors into senior leadership roles.
They are seeking a Lead Wealth Advisor to support continued growth and long-term succession planning. This role is ideal for an experienced advisor with prior end-client responsibility who wants to deepen technical expertise, lead client relationships, and grow within one firm over the long term.
The Role
The Wealth Advisor serves as a primary relationship manager for assigned client households while collaborating closely with associate advisors, analysts, and operations staff to deliver comprehensive wealth management services. This position blends client leadership, financial planning, portfolio management, and gradual business development responsibilities.
This is not a “bring your book” role. While new asset sourcing is encouraged and rewarded, the firm prioritizes advisors who value teamwork, planning excellence, and long-term client stewardship.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as primary advisor on assigned client households, typically ranging from $1M to $5M in AUM depending on experience
- Lead client meetings, reviews, and ongoing financial planning discussions
- Build, present, and clearly communicate comprehensive financial plans
- Integrate investment, tax, estate, retirement, and philanthropic strategies into client solutions
- Establish investment objectives, asset allocation, and portfolio strategies
- Serve as portfolio manager and participate on the Investment Committee
- Monitor portfolio performance and explain market and portfolio positioning to clients
- Coordinate with clients’ CPAs, estate attorneys, and and other professional advisors
- Retain and grow assets under management through strong client relationships
- Participate in networking, community involvement, and referral development
- Mentor associate advisors and analysts as the role progresses
- Contribute to firm initiatives, process improvements, and leadership development
Experience & Qualifications
- Approximately 7 years of industry experience with prior end-client advisory responsibility
- Strong background in financial planning and portfolio management
- Experience in fee-only RIA or holistic planning environments preferred
- Wirehouse or bank experience considered if background includes broad, well-rounded exposure
- Insurance backgrounds considered only if willing to transition to a fee-only advisory model
- CFP®, CFA®, CPA, or CIMA preferred (or meaningful progress toward a designation)
- Series 65/66 required (Series 7 not sponsored)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Comfortable leading conversations and managing complex client relationships
- Relationship-oriented, collaborative, and growth-minded

- Base salary (up to $200k)
