Position Overview
The Commercial Operations Manager will serve as a key partner to Sales and Finance leadership, driving operational effectiveness across the commercial organization. This role is responsible for delivering actionable insights, supporting revenue planning, managing sales compensation processes, and optimizing systems and workflows that enable consistent performance.
This position operates at the intersection of sales strategy, financial planning, and data analytics, and requires a highly analytical and detail-oriented individual who thrives in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
Key Responsibilities
Performance Analytics & Insights
- Develop and maintain reporting frameworks, dashboards, and KPIs to monitor commercial performance
- Analyze sales pipeline activity, conversion metrics, and revenue trends
- Provide data-driven insights to support strategic decision-making, territory alignment, and resource allocation
- Track key performance indicators such as adoption rates, pipeline progression, and quota attainment
Forecasting & Revenue Planning
- Lead the sales forecasting process in partnership with Sales and Finance leadership
- Evaluate pipeline health and forecast accuracy to improve predictability
- Support budgeting cycles, financial planning, and scenario modeling
- Communicate performance trends and forecast updates to senior leadership
Sales Compensation & Incentives
- Oversee administration of variable compensation programs, including calculation and validation of payouts
- Maintain and enhance compensation models to ensure accuracy, transparency, and scalability
- Partner with leadership to refine incentive structures aligned with business objectives
- Ensure data integrity and auditability of compensation-related processes
Process & Operational Excellence
- Design and implement scalable sales processes and workflows
- Identify inefficiencies and recommend improvements to increase productivity
- Support territory planning, quota setting, and performance management initiatives
- Monitor field performance trends and key operational metrics
Systems & Data Management
- Manage and optimize CRM and commercial data systems
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and usability across platforms
- Evaluate and implement tools that enhance visibility into pipeline and performance
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure system integration and reporting alignment
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Act as a strategic partner to Sales, Finance, and Operations teams
- Support leadership with planning, reporting, and operational initiatives
- Contribute to executive presentations and internal business reviews
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or related field
- 5 years of experience in Sales Operations, Revenue Operations, Finance, or Business Operations
- Strong analytical and financial modeling skills
- Experience working with CRM platforms and data analysis tools
- Advanced Excel proficiency
- Experience supporting commercial or revenue-generating teams
Preferred:
- Experience in healthcare, medical device, biotech, or related industries
- Exposure to high-growth or scaling organizations
- Familiarity with sales compensation structures and incentive design
- Experience with BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Looker)
- Experience with sales targeting or market intelligence platforms
