Key Responsibilities:
- Act as a subject matter expert for payroll and benefits processes, providing guidance to internal stakeholders
- Manage end-to-end payroll processing, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
- Administer employee benefits programs, including enrollments, changes, and reconciliations
- Analyze current workflows and identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve efficiency
- Partner with HR, finance, and leadership teams to address payroll and benefits-related inquiries and challenges
- Ensure data integrity across payroll and HRIS systems, including reporting and audits
- Stay informed on regulatory changes and proactively adjust processes to maintain compliance
- Support audits, reporting requirements, and year-end activities such as W-2s and 1095s
- Contribute to system enhancements, implementations, or automation initiatives, including RPA tools where applicable
- Provide training and mentorship to team members as needed
- Assist with special projects and additional responsibilities to support organizational goals
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of payroll processing experience
- Strong understanding of payroll laws, tax regulations, and compliance requirements
- Experience with HRIS and payroll systems; exposure to automation or RPA tools is a plus
- High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- CPP or related certification is a plus
- Required to work onsite in Santa Monica at least 2 days per week
Compensation:
$70,000 – $85,000 annually, depending on experience
